Basement Leaks
If you have a water leak in your basement, you will first want to check all of the pipes in your basement to make sure that they are not damaged. If they are, then you should call a plumber right away to fix them. This is important because if you don’t, you will have a problem getting the water out of the basement. Once the pipes are repaired, you will need to take care of the water leak. You will need to turn off the main water valve in your home.
Faucet Leaks
You will then want to turn on the faucet in your basement that has the leak. After that, you will want to place a bucket underneath the faucet and let the water run out. When the water stops running, you will want to clean up the mess and then put some absorbent material under the faucet to catch any remaining water.

You will then want to apply a little bit of drywall compound to the area and then let it dry.
