Don’t Pour Your Money Down The Drain

Don’t Pour Your Money Down The Drain

Often overlooked or dismissed as a minor annoyance, leaking taps can be surprisingly hard to detect and can have significant consequences, not just for your household but also for the environment.

Leaking taps might not seem like a big deal at first glance, but their impact on the environment is substantial. According to recent studies, one slowly dripping tap can waste more than a bucket of water a week. Imagine that multiplied across households in Brisbane alone. It’s a major amount of water being wasted needlessly, putting strain on our precious water resources and ecosystems.

But the repercussions extend beyond environmental concerns; they hit closer to home with your household budget. Have you noticed your water bills creeping up lately? Leaking taps could be why. A visibly leaking toilet, for instance, can waste up to 18 buckets of water a day or 70 days of drinking water for one person*. That’s water you’re paying for but not benefiting from, essentially pouring your hard-earned money down the drain.

Fixing a leaking tap or toilet could save you hundreds of dollars each year on your water bill; that’s money you could be spending on a nice dinner out, a weekend getaway, or even investing in your home. And you will not only save money, but you will also help conserve our precious water resources.

So keep an eye out for signs of leaks in your home, such as damp patches, mould growth, or unexplained increases in water usage. And don’t forget to check your water meter readings regularly to catch any leaks early on.

Pure and Convenient: The Emerging Trend of Tap Integrated Water Filters

Clean and safe drinking water is a necessity for every household early stage research questioning the health quality of highly treated water. The popularity of water filters is growing within Brisbane households with new tap integrated systems drawing increased attention. In this blog post, we will explore the benefits of tap integrated water filters and why Plumbaround is the ideal choice for installing a new water filter system in your household.

Water filters have come a long way from the bulky pitchers and under-sink contraptions of the past. Tap integrated water filters provide an elegant and convenient solution, seamlessly integrating into your existing sink and tap setup. These filters eliminate the need for separate filter containers, making it easier than ever to enjoy pure and refreshing water with just a turn of the tap.

Why should you consider investing in a tap integrated water filter?

Let’s delve into the benefits:

  • Superior Water Quality: Tap water often contains impurities, such as chlorine, sediments, and various contaminants. A high-quality integrated water filter removes these impurities, ensuring that the water you consume and use for cooking is clean, fresh, and free from unwanted taste or odor.
  • Convenience and Accessibility: With a tap integrated water filter, you can enjoy filtered water instantly, without the hassle of refilling pitchers or filling your fridge with dozens of water containers. It provides a constant supply of clean water directly from your tap, saving you time and effort.
  • Cost-Effective Solution: While pitcher filters may seem cheaper initially, they can add up to significant costs in the long run particularly when factoring frequent filter replacements. Tap integrated water filters are a cost-effective alternative, as they eliminate the need for repeated filter replacements and avoid the environmental impact caused by plastic waste.
  • Space-Saving Design: One of the significant advantages of tap integrated water filters is their space-saving design. They seamlessly blend into your existing tap setup, meaning you don’t need to store numerous pitchers or filter bottles in your kitchen.

Thank you to the wonderful locals for welcoming us into the local community. It has been an easy transition with lovely people, good vibes & great coffee next door at Silky Oak Espresso.

Please pop your head in and say ‘hi’ next time you are in the area.

Water efficiency in Albany Creek

Water efficiency in Albany Creek

Are you a landlord or property owner? Are you conscious about saving water? Is your property due for an annual Water Efficiency Assessment?

We assess all tap ware, toilets and showers on the property and test the flow rates to ensure they fall within the allowed range to be considered water efficient.

According to the RTA, tenants can only be charged for water consumption if:
– the property is individually metered (or water is delivered by vehicle), and
– the property is water efficient, and
– the tenancy agreement states the tenant must pay for water consumption (The State of Queensland Residential Tenancies Authority, Manage newsletter subscriptions, 29-05-2017)

We can easily assess your property and upon completion of any required rectifications, we will provide you with a Water Efficiency Certificate.

Water leak in Keperra

Water leak in Keperra

Water Leaks on your property can go undetected for a long time before you or the council notice. It some cases you won’t know about a leak on your property until your water meter has been read by council.

We have recently attended to many cases where the main water lines have needed to be excavated in order to find the water leak below ground.

Once the damaged section has been located, we are able to repair the copper or poly pipe using the correct and approved fittings. We test all works to ensure everything is okay and then re instate the ground cover.

The first below picture was taken recently in Keperra and luckily the tenant identified the leak straight away in the front yard from the water pooling in one area.

This leak was quite slow and the leak itself was found on a split 25mm poly.  The issue was found and the repair was completed in a time manner.

This second picture is of a main water supply line in Carseldine that had been leaking for months and was only identified after council had read the water meter and found the property had a very excessively high water usage!

Plumbaround Pty Ltd can find just about every leak there is and repair it to ensure you do not waste any more water on your property than is necessary.

Some water leaks can waste up to 800 litres per day and this can go on for months!

Contact us on 3038-1038 at Plumbaround Pty Ltd is you suspect a water leak on your property and we will have a Qualified Plumber attend ASAP.
