As we all know in South East Queensland, storm season is fast approaching and if you have ever wondered is there a plumber near me, the answer if YES, Plumbaround!
We have recently attended a property in North Brisbane where the owner thought the sewerage from the drain was causing a wet patch in the grassed area of their property. Upon investigation we found it was a leaking tap that was undetected and was dripping into the down pipes and leaking below the ground into the stormwater line. We serviced the tap, cleaned the line, camera’d the line & located the issue. The stormwater pipe is repaired and is now flowing freely. The owners will now be ready for storm season & free of a flooding emergency when the rain hits this year. If you are currently experiencing or previously had overflowing stormwater or sewerage pipe work and flooding on the property and you want to avoid an emergency, book an inspection with the Plumbaround team today.
What a great morning for World Tradesman Day last Friday. A hot cooked brekkie at our office on Ainsdale Street, Chermside West. We even had a few locals lining up for a sausage (with onions on the top not the bottom!)
Thank you to the wonderful locals for welcoming us into the local community. It has been an easy transition with lovely people, good vibes & great coffee next door at Silky Oak Espresso.
Please pop your head in and say ‘hi’ next time you are in the area.
A blocked drain can be from a few different reasons, such as a squashed pipe or tree roots. Tree roots are a major cause of drain blockages and must be rectified as the problem will only worsen with time. If a tree root penetrates a pipe, it is highly likely that it will still grow in the pipe. The tree root system grows to where food and water are located. If you have a crack in a pipe, it is very likely a tree root will enters the drainage line. A tree root can still penetrate and break a pipe even if there is no crack to begin with.
Warwick had fun recently clearing a gurgling shower drain line. Tree roots can penetrate any drain if given the chance and the results are terrible. This shower drain was completely full of tree roots and the line has now been repaired to ensure this doesn’t continue to happen. The owner simply heard a constant gurgling in from the shower drain but over time it became worse. Little did they know it was actually this bad! The repair was only a small section of pipework but some instances see an entire drainage line being repaired.
Are you a landlord or property owner? Are you conscious about saving water? Is your property due for an annual Water Efficiency Assessment?
We assess all tap ware, toilets and showers on the property and test the flow rates to ensure they fall within the allowed range to be considered water efficient.
According to the RTA, tenants can only be charged for water consumption if:
– the property is individually metered (or water is delivered by vehicle), and
– the property is water efficient, and
– the tenancy agreement states the tenant must pay for water consumption (The State of Queensland Residential Tenancies Authority, Manage newsletter subscriptions, 29-05-2017)
We can easily assess your property and upon completion of any required rectifications, we will provide you with a Water Efficiency Certificate.
Contact the office 0410 371 220 today to discuss a suitable time for a plumber to attend and check over your property.
Water Leaks on your property can go undetected for a long time before you or the council notice. It some cases you won’t know about a leak on your property until your water meter has been read by council.
We have recently attended to many cases where the main water lines have needed to be excavated in order to find the water leak below ground.
Once the damaged section has been located, we are able to repair the copper or poly pipe using the correct and approved fittings. We test all works to ensure everything is okay and then re instate the ground cover.
The first below picture was taken recently in Keperra and luckily the tenant identified the leak straight away in the front yard from the water pooling in one area.
This leak was quite slow and the leak itself was found on a split 25mm poly. The issue was found and the repair was completed in a time manner.
This second picture is of a main water supply line in Carseldine that had been leaking for months and was only identified after council had read the water meter and found the property had a very excessively high water usage!
Plumbaround Pty Ltd can find just about every leak there is and repair it to ensure you do not waste any more water on your property than is necessary.
Some water leaks can waste up to 800 litres per day and this can go on for months!
